Salkantay Trek Classic 5 Days

so you can appreciate the first rays of the sun illuminating the glaciers, then we will enjoy a nutritious breakfast before starting our trek to the highest point of the route, the Salkantay Pass. , located at 4630 meters above sea level. You will walk 7 km, approximately 3 hours.
Once you reach the top, you will appreciate the most magnificent view of the surrounding valleys, as well as the Salkantay mountain that is right next to it (6,271 m) which is the second highest in the Cusco region and one of the Apus (Inca gods). You can also see the Humantay, Tucarhuay and Pumasillo mountains. After taking in the views and enjoying a break, you will begin the 7 km/4.35 mile downhill hike to the lunch spot at Huayracmachay (3,850 masl), from where you can enjoy fantastic views of the cliffs.
This section of the trail is rocky and gravelly, with wonderful views down into the Chaullay Valley (gateway to the Amazon).
After an invigorating lunch, you will enter the edge of the Amazon rainforest, also known as the “cloud forest”. This part is 6 km and takes about 3 hours. Along the way, you will be able to enjoy a magical tropical forest and witness how quickly and dramatically the landscape changes from the Andes to the Amazon. You will see colorful landscapes, unique wildlife and native plants. You will find that the weather gets much warmer here.
After your longest day of walking, you will be happy to arrive at your cabin, you will be served a delicious hearty meal and at the end of dinner you will be able to listen to stories of the jungle and the Andes told by the staff that accompanies us on the route,! Today you will be woken up at 6:00 am. For tea and then breakfast before departing from our cabin.
Our first destination will be the llactapata. Today you will enjoy a more leisurely walk while immersing yourself in the exuberant landscape of rivers, waterfalls, birds, orchids and many plantations of banana, lucuma, mango, passion fruit, avocado, pineapple and many more that according to the season we will be able to enjoy directly. In Machupicchu tierra feliz we like to work whit local persons, that is why We will visit an organic coffee farm, especially perfect for coffee lovers. Even if you are not a lover of good coffee, you will be able to learn about its entire process from the plantation until you enjoy it in many of its varieties, being this the main commercial activity in the jungle, exporting to the US, Asia and Europe.
At noon we will let ourselves be surprised by our chef of Machupicchu tierra feliz and we will have lunch in the place known as Lucmabamba, where our tour of the world-famous Inca Trail begins. After an uphill ascent of 2 to 3 hours (at walking pace) and fascinating views over the Santa Teresa valley, you will arrive at Llactapata, this being the archaeological center with the most impressive panoramic view of Machupicchu, after visiting the archaeological center we will have dinner and a campfire, enjoying the sunset with a panoramic view of Machupicchu, when you are ready you will spend the night in our cabin where while you fall asleep you will be able to listen to many sounds of nature while contemplating Machupicchu and the stars through the large windows panoramic views from the roof of our cabins.

We wake up with a delicious coca tea or coffee, to have the beautiful view of this Machupicchu valley with the songs of the birds, you will witness this beautiful sunrise.
We will have our breakfast outdoors appreciating the majesty of the sun’s rays that surrounds Machupicchu and this beautiful valley, we will enjoy more of a beautiful experience.
We will descend for 2 hours, visiting the archaeological complex of Llactapata.
Upon arriving at Hidroelectrica we can comfort ourselves with some drinks, and then continue walking along the train tracks for approximately 3 hours where we can see a variety of birds, we will have lunch in hot waters, and then accommodate you at your hotel.
In Machupicchu tierra feliz we recommend having the afternoon free to visit the town of Aguas Calientes, and then meet for dinner.

The last day of the tour you are going visit Machu Picchu. we have to wake up around 4:00 am to get ready for the hike to Machu Picchu main entrance. After we have breakfast you start walking to Puente Ruinas checkpoint for 30 minutes which is open at 5:00 am where you have to show your passport and your Machu Picchu tickets. After you pass the first checkpoint, you will hike all upstairs for one hour to Machu Picchu main gate to be there around 6:00 am. Once everybody meets at the gate, you go into Machu Picchu for the guided tour for 2.5 hours to learn everything about The lost city of the Incas. After the guided tour Machupicchu tierra feliz  will give you  free time to explore on your own the Inca city of Machu Picchu. The time that you will spend in Machu Picchu will depend on how you like to go back to Cusco and also will depend if you want to climb the Machu Picchu montaña or Huayna Picchu mountain which must book it in advance.
